The Botkin family settled in the Missouri Ozark Mountains in the 1800s, harvesting local timber to support their families and laying the groundwork for what would become a lasting legacy in the lumber industry.
After World War II, four brothers founded Botkin Lumber Company as a small hardwood sawmill in Centerville, Missouri. In the early 1950s, the company relocated to Farmington, Missouri, where it continued to grow and expand its operations.
In the 1980s, Botkin began utilizing kiln-dried Southern Yellow Pine to produce crates, pallets, and boxes designed to protect customers’ products during shipment throughout the United States and overseas. To increase production capacity and better serve customers, a new manufacturing and assembly facility was opened in Taylorville, Illinois, in 1986. Further expansion followed in 1998 with the purchase of a facility in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, significantly increasing production and storage capabilities.
Today, Botkin has evolved into a full-service lumber company, offering a wide range of products and services tailored to meet diverse customer needs. By combining high-grade raw materials with automated production processes, Botkin has earned a nationwide reputation for customized, high-quality products and exceptional service.
